The Everyday Visuals "The Everyday Visuals"

You may not be familiar with The Everyday Visuals but I will tell you why you should be. By now, everyone knows about Passion Pit and the breakout year they are having. Understandably, they won the majority of the 2009 Boston Best Music Poll awards. But who came in 2nd place to Passion Pit nearly every time? The Everyday Visuals.

Not that awards are new to them. They were named "Best Band in New Hampshire" back in 2004. But listening to this record, it has a warmth to it. And it might just become my soundtrack to the winter of 2009.

Miike Snow "Miike Snow"

These guys are probably best known as the producers of Britney Spears' "Toxic" (which they won a Grammy for). They have now put together their first full length release of fun, danceable, electropop songs. Similar in vain to 2009 newbies Passion Pit and Discovery, they find their sound more in pop than electro. You can catch glimpses of piano and not solely synths. It helps keep them grounded a little more in reality.

Passion Pit "Manners"

First of all, extra love goes out to these guys because they're from Boston. Second of all, this album is amazing. This is the definition of electropop. Plus, the lead singer has an amazing falsetto that really makes the whole experience. A must listen and currently my fave album of 2009.
